Teagarden's trombone style was largely self-taught, & he developed numbers of unusual guide positions & novel favorite results on the instrument. He is unremarkably considered a virtually all innovative jazz trombone stylist of the pre-Bebop era, and did great deal to expand a role of a instrument beyond the old tailboard style role of the early New Orleans brass bands.

By 1920 Jack Teagarden was playing professionally around San Antonio, Texas, including with a band of piano player Peck Kelley. In the mid 1920s he started traveling widely as much as a United States in a promptly succession of different elastic. Around 1927, he come to New York City where he worked with many elastic. By 1928 he played for the Ben Pollack band. In the late 1920s he recorded using such notability bandleaders & sidemen when Louis Armstrong, Benny Goodman, Bix Beiderbecke, Red Nichols, Jimmy McPartland, Mezz Mezzrow, Glenn Miller, and Eddie Condon.

In the early 1930s Teagarden was based around Chicago, for some instance swimming by owning a band of Wingy Manone. He played at a Century of Progress exposition in Chicago.

Teagarden sought fiscal security when you took The Great Depression and signed an exclusive contract to play for the Paul Whiteman Orchestra from 1933 through 1938.

Around 1946 Jack Teagarden joined Louis Armstrong's All Stars. Armstrong & Teagarden's function together shows a terrific resonance between the musicians. Around late 1951 Teagarden left to again lead his have band, so co-led the band by owning Earl Hines, then again by owning the class action under his have title by using whom he toured Asia in 1958 and 1959.

Teagarden was likewise the prolific & popular singer. He sang around the lyric baritone-tenor voice. His singing is better remembered for duets using Louis Armstrong & Johnny Mercer.

Jack Teagarden continued swimming until a nighttime prior to he died in the French Quarter of New Orleans, Louisiana. He is buried at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Hollywood Hills in Los Angeles, California.
